• September 11 - 12: CNA Readathon will be held at CNA Riverside this weekend as part of literacy week. Contribute to the campaign by purchasing CNA books that bear ‘Buy me and donate me’ stickers and drop them in CNA’s in-store boxes.  They will be distributed to schools to help start libraries. The books are on READ’s recommended book list, which is found at www.read.org.za and www.cna.co.za

• September 3: Barberton Rotary Club presents a day-night golf tournament to raise funds for seven Rotary exchange students. It will be in a format of a four-ball American scramble. • August 29: Botanical Society and interested members of the public to meet at 14:30 at Paul and Sue Kloeck’s farm to view their fantastic clivias in bloom - there will be plants for sale. Take R40 to Rocky Drift, turn right to Curlews, travel 2,5km on winding gravel road, turn right at Mountain Marsh Estates (note diesel tanks on left), follow dirt track 2km through orchards, and pass two dams to house and nursery.
