NELSPRUIT - People over 40 years of age who undergo a glaucoma screening during a special project during Glaucoma Awareness Week, will receive free reading spectacles.
This project will be hosted at Nelspruit Plaza, near the taxi rank on March 12, from 11:00 to 14:30.
Those interested in this test are requested to register their names at the Empilweni Kiosk at Nelspruit Plaza in advance to avoid disap-pointment. Only 250 people will be registered for this campaign.
Organising this is the department of health and they are supported by Nelspruit Lions Club, Plaza SUPERSPAR and Empilweni Payout Services.
Organisers will test the eye pressure and back of the eye with special equipment to determine any sign of glaucoma. Blindness due to glaucoma is irreversible, making early detection and treatment the only solution. Enquiries: Aron on
082-300-9622 or Euginia on
083-499-4113.
